The company announced it is bringing back the CEO in 2018, but it isn’t clear when that will happen.
Bloomberg News first reported the news.
Bloomberg said the decision to bring back the new CEO was made by Uber’s board of directors and would be announced in October.
Bloomberg reported that it wasn’t clear whether the board members would be named and fired from the position, as the company is a public company.
Uber has been embroiled in a lawsuit over allegations of sexual harassment by former CEO Travis Kalanick.
Kalanik was fired in August for allegedly sexual harassment and discrimination.
