Hacker News user @sarahwelch has taken over the position of CCC business account administrator, posting an announcement on her Twitter account yesterday.
“We’re now in a position to confirm that the CCA account is no longer accepting new user registrations,” the company said in a statement, before going on to explain that they were investigating the matter.
“There’s nothing more we can do for now, so we apologize to anyone who was affected by this.”
The post, which is now gone, did not specify the type of information that had been stolen.
It’s not clear why someone would have to hack into an account to access the information.
CCC has been one of the main targets of cyber attacks in recent years, including the recent attacks that hit the company’s security systems.
The company had not yet responded to Ars’ request for comment.
